Yesterday, I received an email from a dear friend which was quite disheartening. I say this because the person is not given to despair, nor to making dark, ominous, predictions.
He is an educated, intelligent, level-headed individual and is a member of the Board of Regents at an university. I have known him for many years, and he has always been confidant and upbeat, with a most definite positive attitude.
I said that receiving the email was disheartening because if he is feeling this much apprehension about the coming election, then I know that I should probably be more worried than I already am.
Here it is verbatim:
Dear Jan:
From this email on, I am not going to comment on the election of our next President. I have become aware of the fact that most have made up their minds about whom they are going to vote for. I am going to sit back and just watch the outcome. However, I will be watching with much prayer and concern. My students and friends are being taken on the political sleigh ride of their lives, on the ice and snow of changing uncertainty. Heavy snow will not let you see the solid ground for some time. I am afraid that we are on a melting foundation with no view of where the solid floor is located. It is under us. But, how far down. This may be the most severe correction America has experienced. Be sure that your money is in a safe place.
Many Muslims are praying to Allah for Obama to win. They are saying that the outcome will prove who the real God is, Allah or Yahweh. However, this will prove nothing. The moon god, Allah is a god of nature. Yahweh is the God of history. He knows the end from the beginning. Yahweh may allow Obama to become the leader of the greatest Christian country of the nations of the world because of the actions of the peoples of America. "Abortion, limited and selective or not at all" seems to be the difference between the two most popular candidates. Taxes is talked about along with the distribution of wealth. This is described as the great difference between the two.
Change? We hear a lot of promises from the two main candidates. Most of the promises are about change. These two candidates are telling us that the Executive Branch of the Government will bring the change. However, there are checks and balances in place that will stop most of the changes that have been promised to us over the span of time these two have been running for President. Don't get your hopes up too far. Albert Einstein is credited with saying that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result. For years now, Republicans and Democrats have been leading the country in the same basic direction: toward bigger and bigger government; more and more socialism, globalism, corporatism, and foreign interventionism; and the dismantling of constitutional liberties. Yet, voters continue to think that they are voting for "change" when they vote for or against a Republican or Democrat. This is truly insane! And again, we may be in for a change that we were not anticipating and have no plan to dig our way out of the hole.
Warmly, J.
I am aware, of course, that I may receive some comments, or emails, complaining about the fact that this country is mentioned as a Christian nation, or because of the statement about God allowing Obama to become the leader of the nations as a result of the actions of the people in this country. Be that as it may. Anyone with any sense of reason at all realizes that we are at a time in history unlike any other time, facing things that we have never faced before. I think we should all approach the polling booth with fear and trembling, being confirmed in our own hearts that we have chosen wisely.

Thanks for posting this email from an obviously intelligent, knowledgeable, and articulate man Jan. It intensifies my innate dread for the future of our country, and I strongly feel that this is the kind of warning that people need to see..
Hello Jan,
Thank you so much for dropping by my blog and wishing me a warm welcome back.
I look forward to visiting your blog. I have some catching up to do on your blog too.
Wishing you a very nice Monday afternoon.
P.S. I hope your enjoying your new house.
Lydia
That's an intense letter, and much needed perspective.
There may be a silent majority out there, uncontacted by the pollsters, but certain to turn out and vote down this untested change-agent folks call "The One."
I'm saying a little prayer to that effect when I lie down for bed in a little while.
Thanks for sharing.
She..I think that many of us are filled with dread, and only time will tell how dreadful the consequences of this present situation.
Lydia..the pleasure is always mine, when visiting your blog, and you are most definitely always welcome here.
Yes, I am enjoying my new home, and we've been pretty busy since moving in, getting things just the way we like them. ;)
Donald..you're welcome.
I thought that it was a letter worth sharing.
I'm with you...we need all the prayer we can get going, concerning "The One."
Your comments are appreciated..thanks.
That's essentially what I've been saying when I get to the "bottom line"--both parties are pushing statism, and the left-right struggle misses the boat. No one is campaigning sincerely about liberty and personal responsibility.
DC..this campaign has been like no other..it blows the mind, really.
Excellent post. You and your friend see the "solid floor" clearly while the radical left is taking our country on a sad, sad, ride.
It always amazes me how so many are so willing to climb on to that ride without knowing where it may take them. I guess that's the funtion of Obama's con job.
Jack..thank you.
You are right about his con job, and it seems to be accomplishing what he set out to do--deceive and defraud as many as possible, using any means possible.
One can only hope, and pray, that there are enough out there, able to see him for what he really is, and will vote accordingly.
Hopefully, there will be enough to stop the madness that is now stampeding toward us all.
I appreciate your comments.
