Back When Gas Was 30 Cents A Gallon

Well..I doubt that we'll ever see gas for thirty cents a gallon, again.

This song is a real "tear-jerker' so you might as well go ahead and cry over the price of gas, now, too, while you're at it!

What memories! When I was a teenager, we would all pile into the car of whoever in the group owned one, we'd pool our change and since gas was $0.40 a gallon, we'd cruise all night! We'd hang out in the parking lot of the NEW Mcdonald's (back when they were still just drive ins)eat a little, chat a little and flirt a little. Was life really that innocent and simple? These days it feels like THOSE days were just a dream! LOL

rockync..I know!

It was a more innocent time then, and I'm sure that it was just as much fun, cruising around town, as it is doing all the stuff that young folks do nowadays..and a whole lot safer!

I remember there was one drive-in that got circled all night..at least until it closed at around midnight. It was called the Rock Castle, and I guess you can imagine how that name got changed around by a few irate parents! LOL

Remember hot chocolate on a cold night, at fifteen cents a cup?

Jan, you realize that we have now dated ourselves back to the dark ages! I guess that means I can't pirate a pix of a 15 yo and flirt on Myspace, LOL!
Hot chocolate...mmmmm, remember being outside all day in winter and coming home with red faces and chapped knees and having someone waiting in the warm kitchen with a cup for you? I used to have a ceramic cup shaped like the head of Santa Claus. They probably still have something similar, but now they are surely made in China. (sigh)

Hello Jan, I think the price of gas is insane! Pretty soon I'm just going to buy a mountain bike and ditch my car. Have a wonderful day!

rockync..dated ourselves? Nahhh...remember that the little towns from down where we're from were always a little behind the times!

Well, that's my story, and I'm stickin' to it! LOL

Lydia..hi!

Yeah, I know what you mean!

I did get a new bike last year for my birthday, but I haven't put it to much use, but maybe now would be a good time to do it! :)
