When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is to co-operate with evil, and in some small way to become evil oneself. One's standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. ~Theodore Dalrymple

Wow.
What extraordinary callousness.
Can he really not grasp what he's just said?
Does this mean he's forgotten it?
Swine.
My son has a bumper sticker proclaiming Ted Kenady's car has killed more people than his gun. Too true.
Has Kenedy forgotten or does he count on the rest of us for that? I wonder....
hahaha That's priceless!
what is it with politicians, they believe their own s*%t after a very short time......
k..I doubt that he has really forgotten it, but he's never seemed to be too bothered by it.
I think he's counting on the fact that a lot of people, like the young voters, have never really heard much about it.
Hermit..hard to look at that picture, and reading those words, without thinking of something like that, isn't it?
She..I'm thinking that he doesn't really care, one way or the other, since he got away with it, anyway.
dazd..don't you just love the irony of it?
Pink Icing..yep, I'm afraid so! :)
Folks, is Ted Kennedy running for anything? The picture of the Senator and the caption below it certainly make for some irony and bring back difficult memories; but, the subject of his statement is illegal immigration and the great risks many take to come here.
Put Senator McCain's picture over that caption. He feels as Sen.Kennedy feels.
What are the reactions to that?
Thanks.
Richard..I realize that he was speaking of that, but there was so much hypocrisy in that statement.
I can see that you don't have much regard for Senator McCain, and can find much fault with him, but when it comes right down to it, flaws can be found in them all..it's just that some are so glaringly worse than others.
It's true that Senator Kennedy isn't running for anything, but he is endorsing someone, and I personally can't take Kennedy seriously about anything.
We're all entitled to our opinions, though...which is one of the really great things about our country...so far!
Jan,
I knew you knew. :] My point was that even though a proponent of a position may be hypocritical, that doesn't automatically diminish the validity of the position. I brought up Sen.McCain because he spoke very humanly about the same issue and made an attempt with Sen.Kennedy to present some practical approaches to at least start to bring sense and human kindness to a very emotional and politically dangerous issue. [I know you you know] :]
And I do have some good things to say about the Senator from Arizona. Really.
Bwhhaahaa! Oh, that's just too priceless!
Jan, I'm soooo 'stealing' that and re-posting it on my own blog...
Morris..be my guest! LOL
