Who would have thunk it? The lemon wedge! At home, I wash the outside skin of my fruit, but I never gave restaurant lemons a second thought. I'm liking eating out less and less as these reports keep sufacing.

rockync..I know, I never even considered it, either. At home, I always wash all fruits and veggies, including apples, oranges, lemons, etc., before slicing into them. I have always thought that anything on the outside could contaminate the inside, too...but I have never given it a second thought in restaurants. I am getting less enthusiastic about eating out, too.

Oh dear! I never gave it a thought either! We seldom eat out anymore because of other dietary concerns, I imagine other sliced fruits and vegies are equally suspicious!
Thanks for the heads up, Jan:)

Yes. Sometimes hermitude is good.

Most folks who've ever worked, or just really seen, in restaurant kitchens get the heebie jeebies about them.

Lucky for me, I have a somewhat dim view of the average human's sense about things like this. So I rarely eat out anyway - even when I'm healthy enough to make it inside a restaurant.

k..I'm beginning to think that is is healthier to stay completely away from the restaurants! :)

Hello Jan, Thank you for this info. I never would have thought about getting sick from lemon wedges at a restaurant. I will make sure to stear clear of them next time I go out to eat.

Lydia..hi, there!

There are probably lots of things that we are unaware of, that can make us sick...but I never gave this one a thought!
